Family
Isabel (Née April 1987)
Robbie (Née November 1989)

We live in Richmond, Virginia, about 2 hours south of Washington, DC. We enjoy time with friends and extended family. We are involved in social issues through our church: Edie supports our work with community outreach. I continue my work with homeless veterans and those with Post Traumatic Stress (PTS) supporting a colleague who uses Sophocles plays as therapy.

We use our local gym several times a week and walks with our rescue dog, Shadow. She is very protective of Edie and, sometimes me. Loves treats and belly rubs from our neighbours!

We spend vacations on Upper Saranac Lake in the Adirondack State Park, New York, a couple of hours south of Montreal.

Sailing, fishing, and of course swimming! The lake is one of the largest in the park and not too far from Lake Placid where the 1938 and 1980 Winter Olympics were held.

Business activites

Edie enjoys working part time with a high-end men’s clothier. She gets a great discount and sometimes brings home something to replace by ageing wardrobe! She is Co-Founder and Director of Communication for our company which is vital for many reasons, not the least of which is proofing the written materials written by her live-in Dyslexic author!

A British colleague and I founded Diogenes-FG, a company with a focus on board fiduciary duty of care. “The duty of care is a fiduciary duty requiring directors and/or officers of a corporation to make decisions that pursue the corporation’s interests with reasonable diligence and prudence.” We are developing the first of its kind AI-based resource for boards to monitor their compliance to a set of board-focused best practices which we are developing.

Reflections and memories of IMI

For us both, our time in Geneva was an opportunity to work with a great group of people whom we consider as our extended family. We keep in touch as best we can and we look forward to our reunions, now scheduled every five years. Perhaps the greatest takeaway for me is the value of our cultural diversity, the chance to learn how to important it is to see the “others’ point of view”. This facilitated my working with a diverse group of clients including the Russian Sovereign funds in 2008.
